Photo checklist before you publish new work
Good portfolio photos do one job: they help a new client understand the result before they book.
Pick clarity before drama
Use clean light, a steady angle, and a background that does not compete with the service. The client should notice the nails, brows, skin, lashes, or makeup first.
Keep the first four photos useful
- a clean finished result
- a close-up that shows detail
- a second angle for shape and symmetry
- a workspace or process photo if it builds trust
Do not hide the service conditions
If the result depends on length, hair type, skin condition, previous work, or aftercare, say that in the caption.
Use before-and-after carefully
Publish before photos only when the client gave consent. Avoid anything that exposes private details, medical context, or a face when it is not needed.
